The TAB program allows ECD to offer information to help communities better understanding the health impacts of brownfields sites, aid in the explanation of the science and technology evolved in brownfields site assessment, provide answers to brownfields finance questions, and information on approaches to brownfields cleanup and redevelopment.

Technical Assistance to Brownfields Communities (TAB)
Enterprise Corporation of the Delta (ECD) has been awarded a Technical Assistance to Brownfields Communities (TAB) grant through a national program funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). ECD will be providing assistance to EPA regions 4 and 6. These regions include Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Tennessee.What is a Brownfield?
Brownfields are abandoned or under-used industrial and commercial facilities where expansion or redevelopment is complicated by the presence of or perception of environmental contaminations, hazardous substances, or pollutants.What is the Technical Assistance to Brownfields Communities (TAB) Program?
The EPA defines the TAB program as, “grants that provide geographically based technical assistance and training to communities and other stakeholders on brownfields issues with the goal of increasing the community's understanding and involvement in brownfield cleanup and revitalization.”The TAB program allows ECD to offer information to help communities better understanding the health impacts of brownfields sites, aid in the explanation of the science and technology evolved in brownfields site assessment, provide answers to brownfields finance questions, and information on approaches to brownfields cleanup and redevelopment.
How Can TAB Assist You and Your Community?
TAB assistance will be customized to meet the specific environmental concerns and economic redevelopment needs of each participating community as funding and time allows. The range of products and services offered to advance each area and community will depend on public and private resources available within each state.Several services can be provided under the TAB program:
- Brownfields 101, educational workshops
- Brownfields site inventories
- The development of a personalized Brownfields redevelopment plan
- Formation of a Brownfields redevelopment strategy
- Assistance with community outreach
- Workshops on grant writing for Brownfields redevelopment projects.
