When an ECD loan officer sees the need for technical assistance for a borrower or prospective borrower and ECD believes that the assistance will be of significant benefit to its business, the loan officer will propose additional assistance for the borrower or prospective borrower.
It is important that the business is not only willing but actively interested in the form of technical assistance recommended. Through working with small businesses for over 10 years, ECD understands that technical assistance is of little value if the small business does not value the technical assistance offered.
If these conditions are met, ECD will work with the small business to determine how to pay for the technical assistance.
